What you'll do:
The District Manager will be responsible for leading all operations and providing overall planning, direction, and execution in each assigned group of locations. They will hustle, execute, problem-solve and lead a growing business in their region. They will be responsible for all operations and the success of the Reef business and business partners in their market.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Leadership – Own your P&L, as well as metrics for safety, quality, customer, cost and people. Lead a team of Field Process Leaders, while ensuring a fun, rewarding, and inclusive work culture.
- Model our core values as key leadership behaviors and ensure the highest levels of safety, quality and service excellence for employees, partners, and consumers.
- Coach employees by creating a shared understanding about what needs to be achieved and how it is to be achieved. Reward and recognize employees.
- Identify and engage top talent and develop team members to their fullest potential within the organization. Plan and lead team management meetings.
- Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations.
- Operational excellence – Ensure day-to-day operations follow established standards, safety protocols and uphold standard work practices, quality controls, and deliver on business aspirations.
- Be willing to get your hands dirty and do what it takes to get the business partnership deployed and operating, including spending a significant amount of your time in the field.
- Ensure consistent application of operating standards and processes (Operational Excellence) with focus on efficiencies and labor productivity standards.
- Understand end to end supply chain process and systems; ensure only authorized suppliers are used.
- Growth – Drive growth capability through operational excellence in daily work driven to a determined maximum capacity.
- Work closely with our Area Director to build and execute an expansion plan for your market, while maintaining the high quality in existing operations.
- Financial Performance – Manage the group of assigned locations operating budgets, including equipment, supplies, maintenance and labor. Oversee and deliver on company financial targets.
- Ensure adoption of all processes and systems. Understand performance metrics, data, order fulfillment and trends; educate teams on key inputs to improve performance metrics.
- Hiring – Lead in-market recruiting efforts with support from central teams to ensure all roles are filled and future needs are forecasted. Oversee hiring, onboarding and training of all employees.
- Compliance – Ensure Field Process Leaders maintain a safe and healthy and productive environment for employees and consumers. Oversee compliance with all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, contracted parking and labor.
- Partnerships – Coordinate with Central business development teams to support third-party partnerships in your city, including establishing and maintaining effective customer and partner support and retention activities. Partners can serve as an extension of our service agreement and should be held to the same performance standards.
- Other duties as assigned and modified at manager's discretion.
Responsibilities:
- Experience scaling a consumer-service logistics business and ability to manage and meet key KPIs, with new or early stage startup launch experience preferred
- Ability to independently ensure achievement of goals are translated into actionable plans
- Problem-solving and hustling mindset, ready to crack any challenge that comes your way
- Unparalleled business judgement and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly establish highest value priorities and develop a plan to pursue them
- Experience working closely and communicating effectively with your operational team or partners in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment with tight deadlines
- Clear and concise communicator with the ability to focus the teams efforts on the highest priorities
- Demonstrated success leading distributed teams
What we're looking for:
- BA/BS degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on management experience, preferably in logistics or order fulfillment
- Experience scaling a consumer-service business and experience managing a P&L, with new or early stage tech startup, launch experience preferred
- Ability to independently translate goals into actionable plans, without prompting
- Unparalleled business judgement and critical thinking skills with the ability to use data to quickly establish highest value priorities and develop a plan to close gaps
- Experience working closely with your team in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment with tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build relationships, lead a team, manage employees, and create a hard-working and fun workplace
- Self-motivated, self-directed, and eager to take ownership of tasks to ensure solution
