    Position Summary

    The incumbent is accountable for process coordination across shifts in a continuous production facility, employee adherence to operating discipline, and the tactical implementation of process safety management. In other words, this individual works in a facilitative role which is aimed at process adherence and improvement to fully realize the potential of both our human and capital resources through process safety management and operational discipline.

    Responsibilities

    Supervise dispersion process effectivity, efficiency, and safety in the following areas:
  • Building 1 – Basketmill, two waterbase sandmills, Hockmeyer mixer, Lightnin’ mixer, 6 500-3000 gallon mix tanks, blend operations, and the packaging station. Building 5 – Two Kady mills, a vertical sandmill, a horizontal sandmill, two Hockmeyer mixers, a Myers mixer, 4 Lightnin’ mixers, 5 250-2000 gallon mix tanks, and blend operations. Building 8 Chemlok – Basketmill, sandmill, 1000 gallon dispersion tank, 4 2300 gallon mix tanks, rubber granulator, and packaging station. Building 8 Structural – T-140 mixer, T-1000 tri-blade mixer, TS-700 tri-blade mixer, PD-200 tri-blade mixer, PD-10 tri-blade mixer, Hockmeyer mixer, and blend operations.
  • Building 16 – Pack-to-Order operations and blend operations.
  • Direct Production Engineer to accomplish project goals.
  • Support supervision of 40 to 60 non-exempt Operational/Production employees to ensure operational discipline across shifts. Obtain observations of performance through interactions with Shift Coordinators, coworkers, and others in order to provide positive feedback and, when necessary, constructive criticism. Support daily performance through effective data collection, analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Provide daily counsel to Shift Supervisors, Production Specialists, and Operators to maximize schedule attainment on a weekly/monthly scale. Act in a mentoring capacity, encouraging employees to develop their personal skills by reinforcing positive performance and operating discipline.
  • Lead and/or participate in Continuous Improvement projects along with actively promoting and implementing Lean and Pull Manufacturing techniques. Lead and/or participate in Dispersion and Industrial Adhesive Lean Teams, actively supporting the completion of team goals across all shifts. Evaluate and propose appropriate corrective action to discrepancies noted by the notification process to support product quality through process adherence.
  • Develop and maintain a positive employee relations climate through effective communication and sound management practices in order to preserve the non-union environment of the facility.
  • Stand (up to 100% of the time), bend 90 degrees (up to 90% of the time), walk (up to 75% of the time), push/pull (up to 75% of the time), lift (up to 50% of the time), and climb stairs (up to 25% of the time). Carry up to 55 pounds (up to 25% of the time). Work in all weather conditions.

    Qualifications

    WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Five+ years experience as a Production Supervisor.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and supervise maintenance on dispersion equipment listed above. EDUCATION REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
