Role Purpose As the first responders for the Department of Public Safety, the dispatcher must be customer focused at all times, in a sometimes stressful environment, maintaining professionalism as a high priority. The dispatcher, is responsible for managing request from callers and supporting public safety officers ensuring everyone’s safety. The communications officer must remain in control of all events utilizing, the radio, telephone, and cameras, and paging system until resolution.
