We are currently looking for a few dishwashers to join our team!

A successful Dishwasher at Bamboo Sushi does not need to have a specific working background. However there are a few specifications we do hire for; such as the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, the ability to remain standing for an extended period of time, and the ability to consistently comply with our safety and PPE policies. We have implemented and do actively enforce COVID safety measures in compliance with the county orders. Social distancing and masks are required. High touch areas are frequently cleaned and the restaurant is disinfected hourly. Our number one priority is keeping our staff and guests safe.

Essential Job Functions

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Adhere to Bamboo Sushi’s policies and procedures including dress, grooming, and attendance guidelines

• Maintain friendly, helpful, and positive attitude while at work, assisting other team members as needed

• Know and follow all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures

• Attends all company meetings and training sessions, as needed

• Treat all guests, team members, and restaurant leadership with greatest degree of respect and courtesy

• Keep restaurant leadership promptly informed of guest service issues, taking action as appropriate

• Scrape and pre-rinse food from dirty dishes and utensils, disposing in trash or compost as appropriate and placing dishes in dishwashing machine

• Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand and/or machine

• Remove trash and garbage to the dumpster area, cleaning garbage cans and trash receptacles.

• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, plates, and utensils in a clean, sanitary, and organized way

• Assemble, maintain, and break down the dish machine and dish pit area

Desired Skills & Capacities

• Previous experience in a high-volume and/or guest-facing environment is a plus

• Working knowledge and/or exposure to dining room and service standards, procedures, and functions

• California Food Handlers Card is a plus

Physical Demands

The person in this position needs to occasionally or frequently;

• Maneuver about inside the restaurant/office to access food/beverage items, machinery, and other restaurant equipment

• Operate basic office equipment

• Operate basic restaurant equipment

• Ascend/descend a ladder or stairs to service the machinery, lights, ceiling fans, etc.

• Effectively communicate with staff and guests

• Work in a noisey/distracting environment

Job Duties:

• Operate an industrial dishwasher, washing dishes and glassware by hand when necessary
• Unload dishes, silverware, and glassware promptly and store them in the appropriate places
• Carry out basic cleaning tasks around the premises, including emptying trash cans, cleaning drink machines, and cleaning any spills and broken glass immediately
• Assist cooks and servers as needed, especially during peak hours
• Report any serious incidents to upper management, such as machine failure or broken facilities
• Other duties as requested
