Position Summary
The dish machine operator is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils by using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine
- Sort and stack clean dishes
- Carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas
- Rewash soiled dishes before delivering
- Change dishwater in dish machine every hour
- Was pots, pans and trays by hand
- Remove trash and garbage to dumpster
- Set up or break down dishwashing area
- Clean and roll/unroll mats. Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
- Sweep/mop floors
- Assemble/disassemble dish machine
- Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster
- Conduct general restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed
- Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
- Notify manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperature
- Adhere to consistent and reliable work schedule.
- Complete required training assigned through the company training portal.
- Demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity in all interactions to uphold the MHRG brand.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience/Knowledge:
- Previous commercial kitchen experience preferred
- Must be friendly and guest service oriented
- Must have a positive attitude and ethics which support our values and culture
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a sense of urgency
- Able to understand English and to follow simple verbal direction
Skills/Aptitudes:
- Learns quickly and has ability to take direction
- High quality standards for production and service
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Must possess neat and clean hygiene
License/Qualifications:
- Valid Food Handler Certificate required
- Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays
- Must comply with dress standards
- Authorization to work in the USA
