Director, Technology Development Finance

The Director of TD Finance is responsible to provide financial leadership and guidance to the Technology Development and Engineering teams. They will be a trusted strategic partner to management through interpreting business results, assessing business risk, enabling effective decision making through financial data analysis, trends & observations, and drive the business to meet strategic financial goals and priorities. They will partner with TD leadership to advise and analyze key decisions including business plans, resource allocation, performance review and assessment, technology portfolio management and new business evaluation and start-up.

This role will be responsible to manage a team of highly motivated Financial Analysts, develop and mentor key talent, and maintain internal interfaces with other Finance teams and other Company functions in support of the business objectives.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Provide business partner support to functional leadership of the Technology Development Group
  • Leverage/understand Business Unit roadmaps to optimize TPG objectives and company performance
  • Leverage Product Technology understanding to help optimize spending, resources, and manufacturing capacity
  • Lead preparation of business plans, budgets, and quarterly forecasts
  • Measure and analyze performance to plan for key financial measures including expenses, capital, and headcount
  • Identify and communicate risks & opportunities impacting execution to program deliverables and financial performance
  • Support technology decisions with financial analysis of cost of alternatives
  • Facilitate effective reviews of the cost of new technology introduction
  • Develop metrics that assesses trends in data, provides insights, supports efficiency initiatives, and provides decision support to investment decisions
  • Manage direct reports to ensure communication of responsibilities is clear and concise; promote cooperative and productive relationships within team
  • Drive process automation & other process improvement initiatives that enables the team to prioritize strategic support initiatives
  • Mentor and develop key Finance talent, strengthening leadership bench

Qualifications

  • Significant exposure to business management and strategic planning activities
  • Good understanding of Semiconductor Technology
  • Strong business acumen and intellectual curiosity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across functional boundaries
  • A track record of mobilizing a team to identify and implement process improvements
  • Experience leading and developing high powered teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education

  • BBA or MBA in Finance or related field

Experience

  • 10+ years finance analysis & business partnering experience
  • 5+ years of experience in supervisory or other leadership position
  • Demonstrated experience in providing strategic analysis & insights to Sr Executives
  • Prior experience in Semiconductor Manufacturing; Engineering background a plus
