The Director, Property Accounting supervises, coordinates and ensures property accounting activities are performed for wholly owned, managed, and Joint Venture properties. Activities include but are not limited to: Daily/Weekly Monthly/Quarterly Annually Other Supervisory Responsibilities Responsible for the supervision of the Property Accounting Managers, Portfolio Accountant and the Accounts Receivable Administrators. Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university Minimum of 5 years’ experience in real estate accounting Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word and familiarity with general ledger software packages required. MRI experience a plus. Experience in a multi-site environment, publicly traded company and REIT industry all a plus. Other Skills Required: Individual should possess strong aptitude for basic accounting principles, good reasoning skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a high volume, corporate environment. Strong leadership, communication, presentation and writing skills required. Ability and experience in managing and motivating a large department of subordinates and staff. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate and figure amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
