Responsible for establishing the supply chain structure and defining general objectives for managers. Provides direction and control for production planning, material procurement, inventory control, and logistics. Evaluates the organization's supply chain performance against projected costs and timelines. Supports the strategic goals through effective and efficient forecasting and planning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary/major job responsibilities that will be performed by this job.
- Defines, optimizes and implements processes and standard operating procedures for forecasting, demand, inventory control, transportation, and distribution operations for the organization.
- Develops plans long term plans and initiatives that address anticipated changes in the business based on new/enhanced technology, product offerings, market demand and sales goals.
- Develops tools for production planning, volume and capacity studies. Participate in process improvement efforts and other risk mitigation and efficiency efforts.
- Develops and manages all master scheduling and/or final assembly scheduling activities. Compiles master schedule using input from sales forecasts, open order reports, historic activity reports, and capacity restraint reports.
- Trouble-shoots and coordinates adjustments to the production schedules to accommodate raw material shortages, failure of vendor to deliver, rush order priorities and equipment failure. Reviews daily production data to identifying possible causes of production problems.
- Establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.
- Performs special studies, investigations and analyses relating to the introduction of new products or processes, yield improvements and cost reductions.
- Partners and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business priorities and to implement strategic initiatives and tactics.
- Exercises full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination and other personnel actions.
Qualifications EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The minimum education and experience required to successfully perform the essential functions. Preferred requirements can also be included in this section.
Bachelor's degree Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field and ten years of supply chain, logistics, production planning and demand/forecasting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of five years of leadership experience is required. Demonstrated proficiency in MRP and Supply Chain strategies, with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
