The Capacity Supply Chain and Provisioning (CSCP) group is an exciting and fast evolving group within Microsoft whose vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering cloud capacity differentiated at scale. The organization is responsible for planning, delivery and provision of all data centers globally powering Microsoft cloud properties. CSCP supports over 200 online businesses including Bing, O365, OneDrive, Xbox and Windows Azure branded services. Cloud Manufacturing Operations and Fulfillment (CMOF) organization within CSCP manages Business Operations performance and supply of hardware for the data centers. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. The role of Cloud Supply Chain Operations Planning Director will lead a team responsible for supporting Microsoft Cloud solutions. They will be part of the supply chain operations team under CMOF focusing on the following key areas:

  • Serve as a leader for Cloud Manufacturing and Operations team
  • Build, coach and develop high performing team of supply chain planning professionals
  • Develop core capabilities needed to scale the Supply Chain Operations team
Responsibilities

In this role, you will be the leader responsible for developing and managing the Supply Chain Operations Planning function Microsoft’s Azure Cloud.

  • Lead monthly MPS Planning for server hardware across the Systems Integration Partners
  • Work with internal partners on weekly and monthly supply supportability process
  • Development of FGI warehouse strategy leveraging Lean ROP principals to drive replenishment
  • Work with NPI, Mission Control and CSCP partner teams to manage pilot to growth ramp with SI’s
  • Responsible for the allocation of constrained materials across with partner teams and SI’s
  • Working with SI’s to develop inventory management strategies in support of Cycle Time and Financials goals
  • Lead planning segments of monthly interlocks with SI’s creating awareness, understanding and visibility to changes and business objectives
  • Drive continuous performance and process improvements including development of tools
  • Demonstrable track record of developing Metrics to drive business improvements and results

  • Exceptional leadership skills, growth mindset and experience leading teams
  • Extensive knowledge supply planning disciplines and best practices
  • Experience with supply chain analytics and modeling techniques
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to synthesize and report out both verbally and in writing
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to build strong relationships across multiple layers in the organization
  • Experience working in a lead management role with focus on key areas of Finance, Sourcing, Suppliers and Operations Program Management
  • Distinctive analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement and drive continuous improvement actions to gain efficiencies in a matrix environment
  • Proven capabilities in operating in a growing, fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Experience with SAP IBP Supply Planning or similar supply planning tools such as Kinaxis, SmartOps, Oracle Cloud Planning, etc. is desirable.
  • Proficient with business tools (e.g. word, excel modeling, power point slides) and able to generate quality outputs
Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ experience in supply chain, Demand/Supply planning, Sourcing or Operations
  • 5+ years working experience in Operations Supply Planning


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related technical degree, MBA is a plus
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in electronics, telecommunications, and/or information technologies in a supply chain supporting of hardware or software
  • Experience in project or program management with proven track record of successfully setting up and executing supply chain operational processes
  • Extensive experience in leading cross functional internal and external global teams for supply chain operations
  • Cloud / high tech supply chain experience is a plus
