Director of Strategic Procurement

Overview:THIS POSITION CAN BE BASED IN EITHER FRISCO, TX OR ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI.
It reports into our headquarters senior management.
Plan and direct the Centralized Leasing Company (CLC) Fleet procurement strategy, execution and results as well as the procurement, disposal, maintenance, and effective utilization of Fleet vehicles and equipment in support of distribution activities at all QCD distribution centers. This role has direct impact on the financial performance of the businesses through the delivery of cost savings, spend reduction and working capital improvement.
Responsibilities:KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct responsibility for leveraging fleet spend across QCD
- Develop and drive procurement strategy to deliver a consistent approach for current and future business requirements
Responsible for DOT compliance
Responsible for Renewables and Fleet Electrification global workstreams in support of QCD and GSF Sustainability initiatives
- Partner with Functional Stakeholders, Energy Leaders, leadership and other key stakeholders to ensure lowest cost of ownership
- Deliver business results including productivity, working capital improvement, supplier performance (quality and delivery) and continuity of supply
- Develop & implement strategies to enable network spend leverage, competitive pricing, quality, delivery and risk management with the supply base
- Solicit global, regional and country specific market intelligence in utilities/fleet to guide business decisions to deliver results as well as identify risk
- Lead and mentor the Corporate Utilities/Fleet Procurement team
- Consolidate fragmented global spend, reduce the utilization of non-strategic suppliers, and move the procurement activities upstream in the lifecycle of a solution in order to bring greater value to QCD
Negotiate strategic agreements with utilities/fleet suppliers to maximize benefits
- Develop, monitor and enforce fleet policies, guidelines and procedures
- Make recommendations on alternative energy sources with recommended payback analysis
- Develop and drive a procurement talent management process including the development of talent pipelines for the CLC team
- Understand global/regional/country energy markets and stay current with the overall fleet market and vehicle technology
- Oversee vehicle replacement process - Use Lifecycle Cost methodology to make sure that the correct vehicles are purchased and that they are remarketed on a timely basis to minimize their overall costs
Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Supply Chain/Procurement or Business Management
- 10+ years strategic sourcing experience
- Minimum 5 years leadership experience in Supply Management/Sourcing/Procurement including strong managerial and leadership skills to work across all functions and levels of an organization, including previous leadership experience leading drivers

- Technical skills including strong negotiation skills; excellent knowledge of operations management and supply chain processes in a large organization; and knowledge of effective technology driven-sourcing processes
- Significant experience in Utilities/Fleet procurement, sourcing and/or supply chain
- Demonstrated Leadership experience in Strategic Procurement with broad experience in overall sourcing to facilitate meeting and anticipating the needs of the business, with the ability to effectively work with Senior Business leaders
- Excellent communication skills and even better listening skills to develop, communicate and administer procurement team performance and development plans and appraisals
- Execution skills including persistent drive for results utilizing sound project
- Management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to make data-driven decisions
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Strategic thinking skills including an ability to make sound business judgments related to strategic supply philosophies and initiatives.
- Working knowledge of procurement/sourcing, business law, contracts, and contract negotiations principles
- Demonstrated experience with leveraged agreements, multi-year contracts
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute a vision, as well as an ability to work within larger organizational objectives
- Ability to build consensus across multiple organizations and all levels of the enterprise
- Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, supply chain financing, etc.
Multi-site procurement experience (negotiations, key suppliers and contracting)
- Ability to travel and work in a virtual environment
- Ability to multi-task projects and assess priorities in a complex and demanding environment
