Description:

We are seeking to recruit an experienced leader and software engineer to lead our software development team. The software team will work on projects across the company, including the execution layer and user-facing software for our instrument, as well as maturation of our analysis methods for customer-readiness. The ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in software engineering with proven ability to architect and deliver high quality software products and strong people leadership skills with experience in recruiting, building, and motivating great teams.

What You Bring To The Role

• Building, leading and managing a software team to address Encodia’s software needs
• Collaborating with engineers, bioinformaticians and others to design and build solutions to multidisciplinary problems
• Leading the planning and architecting of the software for our instruments and analysis pipelines
• Designing, building and overseeing infrastructure for software deployment to customers
• Leading design and technical reviews and fostering good communication across teams to help deliver high-quality projects
• Ensuring functional and operational excellence in software development and engineering

What You Bring To The Role

• BS in Computer Science or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in software development
• Experience gathering requirements, architecting & developing software projects, and maturing software projects to customer shipment
• Experience leading and motivating software teams
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with and support multiple groups across the organization
• Programming experience in Python, as well as some strongly typed language (e.g., C/C++/Java/Go)
• Experience with command line Linux environments
• Knowledge of git or other version control systems
• Familiarity with software testing practices

Highly Desirable

• Experience developing software for automated instrumentation
• Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 and 510(k)
