Blockchains, LLC ("we" or "Company") is a technology startup committed to conceptualizing, building, and incubating blockchain-powered solutions. We are working to accelerate blockchain adoption in order to improve upon the current legacy systems on which many industries and the internet rely. To do so, we are developing blockchain-based infrastructure, with an emphasis on digital identity management, digital asset management, and blockchain connectivity for devices.

Blockchains envisions a world transformed by blockchain technology, in which our digital- and real-world interactions are seamlessly interwoven. Blockchains plans to build out its 67,000-acre project in northern Nevada as a real-life sandbox for a new digital economy, where it, along with others, will prove out this transformation and truly change the way we live, work, and play.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Blockchains is looking for an experienced and daring Director of Marketing to design, implement, and manage the strategic planning and execution of marketing initiatives and integrated communications programs for Blockchains and its products. Reporting to the Vice President of Brand, you will be responsible for all aspects of marketing, market research, and support of go-to-market strategies for Blockchains' platform and applications as well as its land development project and other initiatives, including the Blockchains brand and community building. In this role, you will be a key link between product strategy, marketing, sales, customer service, business development, and executives. You will play a significant role in shaping the company's communications planning; bringing your experience in successfully introducing software/platform products and services to new markets.

As the company continues to grow, you will be charged with building, developing, and leading a high-performing team to support the marketing department's efforts such as:

  • Marketing in Support of Product
    • Lead and manage supporting go-to-market planning and execution including outreach initiatives/events, value proposition definition, positioning, messaging, sales and support enablement as well as content development and communications.
    • Support Product Strategy with market research studies, surveys, and community outreach programs.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of market dynamics, trends, competitive landscape, customer use-cases, and products
    • Plan, manage, and execute marketing support for product launches
    • Develop sales training and enablement tools such as sales kits, and messaging guides to enhance sales effectiveness
    • Collaborate with the product management team to develop materials, and sales support to deliver new features and products to market as well as supporting strategic partners.
  • General
    • Manage and optimize inbound marketing initiatives and campaigns, including, but not limited to SEM, SEO, SSM, display advertising, lead generation, email, affiliate, and influencer marketing
    • Define and execute a strategic narrative through the lens of customer use-cases, sales demonstrations, and collateral supporting business development pitches
    • Create original content such as blog posts, general knowledge base, resource materials, thought-leadership articles, whitepapers, videos, social media, presentations, pitch decks, and sell sheets; determine channel distribution strategy
    • Identify key media influencers and cultivate strategic relationships to cross-promote social/digital content
    • Drive marketing activities such as event planning, trade shows, speaking activities, and sponsorships
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase website traffic, audience engagement, and awareness of our brands
    • Serve as an ambassador of the company, its brands, products, and initiatives; occasionally representing the company as a speaker, writer, and thought leader
    • Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content and conversational engagement surrounding the brand and form smart, immediate responses that foster a sense of community and add value to user experience.
  • Operational Activities
    • Devise department budget, including expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return on investment
    • Create and maintain reporting for campaigns, strategies, and outcomes; identify, analyze, and report on trends and successful strategies
    • Forecast hiring needs for the marketing department
    • Continue to increase and share knowledge of current industry/market trends as well as product and company messaging
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

To ensure success, you must be a dynamic marketer with a passion for simplifying complex messaging for technology products into engaging, yet succinct, stories. You have experience with audience and market understanding models, and selling strategies, positioning, messaging, narrative development, and thought leadership. You have a deep understanding of B2B and B2C product marketing and have successfully led marketing campaign strategies and provided marketing support for taking software products to market.

You enjoy startups and thrive in high-performing yet fluid environments. You can simultaneously support multiple initiatives in various stages of development and easily pivot without losing traction on other projects.

You are able to prepare, present, and advocate for succinct strategic recommendations to senior management, and tailor an executable strategy based on feedback. You have strong public speaking, presentation, and communication – verbal and written – skills.

The ability and flexibility to travel, including international travel, 10-20% of the time.

YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

This position requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, business management, or a closely related discipline; a graduate degree is a plus, but not required. A minimum of 7 years of experience marketing software products or technical/platform products. Experience with land development or smart city projects a plus. A minimum of 5 years of experience in leading teams with a passion for mentoring and growing team members.
