Position Summary

At Nordic Ware the Director of Human Resources is responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the human resources function. The position is a key member of the Nordic Ware leadership team and will be responsible for aligning HR initiatives to the overall business strategy.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a professional first-class customer service-oriented HR team focused on delivering employee satisfaction, increasing team effectiveness and driving overall impact on the business.
  • Design, implement and manage HR programming in support of company objectives and people challenges facing the organization.
  • Create internal development and succession planning programs to retain high-performing talent and capture critical, long-term company knowledge.
  • Create and oversee talent acquisition programs, policies and procedures. Work with managers to engage in best practices around recruiting and hiring to provide an outstanding candidate and onboarding experience.
  • Develop performance management and coaching tools for managers to drive individual employee performance, overall employee engagement and retention of key employees.
  • Create and implement a company-wide compensation strategy and programs that drive both team and individual performance and retention.
  • Manage and optimize employee benefit programs to ensure a competitive offering and price.
  • Develop and execute internal communication programs and processes conveying company policies, procedures, and results while promoting a transparent, positive, energetic, and team-oriented culture.
  • Develop and monitor people metrics and analytics to evaluate effectiveness of functional programs and drive workforce planning.
  • Partner with and advise management in appropriate resolution of employee conflict and relation issues. Conduct investigations and address issues related to ethics, harassment, discrimination and other claims.
  • Actively promote and participate in safety training and activities.
  • Partner with EHS Manager on company safety program and employee safety trainings.
  • Direct and oversee workers' compensation claims and leaves of absences for fair and efficient management, and safe return to work.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment law and company policies. Identify trends and legal updates to make recommendations to current policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in an HR Business Partner or management position.
  • Experience in manufacturing or other fast-paced, agile environments highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Ability to read and adapt to workplace situations that vary throughout the day, ranging from warm, welcoming and approachable, to firm and direct when necessary.
  • Ability to understand business goals to recommend HR programs that will drive company growth.
  • Experience with programs related to employee development, success planning, compensation structures, talent acquisition and Working knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate when necessary, sense of accountability and sound professional judgement.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Experience managing HR projects and developing HR policies.
  • Polished and professional written and verbal communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized and able to work with and direct others.
  • Experience using MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.
  • Fluent bi-lingual skills a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push and pull up to ten (10) pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and climb stairs daily.
  • Must be able to talk and hear in ordinary conversation.
  • Require ability to adequately see, with corrective lenses activity both near and far.
  • Requires color vision and an adequate field of vision.
