Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Student Financial Services, the Director of Financial Aid is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the financial aid office and management of the counseling and operations staff. The Director assists the AVP in formulating office policy and interpreting and implementing federal and state regulations and institutional guidelines. The Director is responsible for managing the financial aid process from application to the awarding of federal, state, and institutional funds. The Director will train the counseling staff in office policies and procedures as well as effective counseling techniques and will participate in the annual system set-up of the financial aid management system. Serves as a key partner with the Director of Student Accounts, the University Registrar, and the Director of the Lesley Support Hub, our university customer service center. Acts as a liaison with both undergraduate and graduate admissions as well as various other departments across the university.

The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to relate to students and colleagues with diverse backgrounds and to work effectively with the office staff and other college personnel.
• Experience supervising and training staff.
• Effective management and organizational skills.
• Must be knowledgeable with all federal and state financial aid programs and can interpret and implement changing federal and state regulatory and legislative requirements.
• Understanding of computer systems and their appropriate utilization in a financial aid office. Experience with Ellucian Colleague preferred.
