The Director of Carbon Offset/Demand Response Commercialization - Solar, is responsible for spearheading TEAL’s green, eco-friendly alternative energy initiative, while keeping our social responsibility and future sustainability a matter of the utmost importance. This position will promote smart grid proficiency by innovating the reduction of both energy demand and carbon emissions. This position is based in Houston, TX.:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: :

  • - Define the optimal solution for TEAL to offer its clients for a green central plant-as-a-service solution utilizing solar and energy storage solutions.
    • Create a demand response solution that TEAL can implement.
    • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Operations and Finance to launch the TEAL alternate energy (Solar) solution.
    • Research and investigate the impact of green, eco-friendly activities and technologies within our industry.
    • Will commercialize our services using alternate technologies.
    • Will focus on developing our business with both new and existing clients.
    • A problem solver and solutions provider who excels in this alternative energy space.
    • Passion to drive growth and market share of new and disruptive business solutions.
    • Excite, engage and educate prospective clients and current clients through education of TEAL’s green eco-friendly offering and services.
    • Supply management with reports on client needs, growth opportunities and pain points.
    • Proactively deploy and exhibit daily our TEAL’s Core Values.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: :

    • Understanding of electricity markets in the United States and, specifically, the demand response market. Experience in Texas, Colorado and/or California electricity markets is desirable.
    • Understanding of alternative energy solutions for commercial buildings including solar energy systems and energy storage systems.
    • Understanding the carbon offset credit market is required.
    • Experience in building a business in the carbon offset credit and/or demand response markets.
    • Understanding of mechanical systems is a plus.
    • Demonstrate a mastery of our Teal products and services.
    • Ability to create and deliver persuasive presentations.
    • Keep up with our industry trends and local incentives.
    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Must have the ability to travel 25% with overnight stays.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, LICENSES and EXPERIENCE: :

    • 4 year Bachelor of Science degree, from an Accredited University, majoring in Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Sustainability, Renewable Energy, or Environmental Solutions.
    • MBA is preferred.
    • 3 years working in a senior-level position in a company that participated in the carbon offset credit and/or demand response market, required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
    • Must have a valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record, is required.
    • Must be able to travel with overnight stay, 25% of time.
    • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
