The Director has overall responsibility for all of the activities within the Emergency Department. Responsible for providing a climate in which professional nursing is practiced. Participates in department-specific and interdepartmental strategic planning. Responsible for activities relating to quality patient care, decision making, problem solving and all leadership functions. Stimulates a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of quality, safety, and service for patients. Ensures regulatory compliance of departments within scope. Has a matrix reporting relationship to the Department of Medicine (DEM) Administrator and the HFH VP- Patient Care Services/CNO. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS’ Customer Service Policy and summarized below: Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services. Must possess the following personal qualities: PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
