Director, Broadband communications

Key Duties:
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy for a state-wide impact measurement related to broadband adoption.
- Identify and develop in-depth broadband state governmental and/or public policies.
- Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of data related to the state’s broadband access initiatives.
- Develop metrics, new reports, and analysis models for data collected from local public bodies, vendors, community partners, presentations, research, and initiatives.
- Identify specific opportunities for program innovation, including increased residential adoption and economic development, especially through relationships in the private and non-profit sectors.
- Work with department staff and state agencies, including local public bodies, regional stakeholders, and data vendors to identify opportunities to use data to advance the DoIT and local goals.
- Manage, direct, and collaborate with the Broadband Division staff, including overseeing budget, projects, and initiatives.
- Review projects, new revenue opportunities, trends, commonalities, business needs, and possible solutions sets that could be developed as new products or services.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- 12 or more years of professional experience.
- 8 or more years of experience serving as a leader in a large technology or telecommunications organization, or leading in a community relations and economic development organization or function.
- 5 or more years of senior-level leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization.
- Experience managing staff and budgets.
- In-depth knowledge of wireless telecommunications technologies, network infrastructure, and RF engineering.
- Experience successfully communicating tactical and strategic issues and opportunities to a broad range of IT and community stakeholders.
- Experience utilizing a collaborative approach to lead and influence across internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a field of study related to the work duties, such as Business, Computer Science, Communications, etc.
