Director, Athletic Compliance

Job Description
Assumes responsibility for assisting Associate Athletic Director (AD) for Compliance in the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive NCAA Division I, America East Conference (Big Sky for Men's Golf and MAAC for Women's Golf) and institutional compliance program for the University of Hartford. Supports the development, implementation and monitoring of systems related to the NCAA, America East as well as University of Hartford rules and regulations to ensure timely and efficient compliance office activities as well as accountability and institutional control. In all actions, adheres to federal and state laws as they relate to financial aid administration, rules and regulations governing University, America East, Big Sky, MAAC and the NCAA, including assisting in the education process extended to alumni, boosters, regents, friends and the community. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.

Description of Key Responsibility: Utilizes and maintains institutional compliance software system, providing training to coaches, staff and administrators in an effort to ensure that employees are up-to-date on operating the systems and properly monitoring functional usage to review official/unofficial visits, CARA , complimentary tickets, recruiting activity, playing and practice logs, NLIs, declaration of playing seasons, and roster management. Triages technical issues as necessary and/or appropriate. *

Description of Key Responsibility: Assists in coordination, preparation and presentation of monthly compliance education training classes on a full range of NCAA rules and regulations for coaches, administrators, student-athletes, regents, donors and booster groups. Assists the Associate AD in gathering University -wide information for required NCAA reporting. *

Description of Key Responsibility: Assists in the review and evaluation of initial and continuing academic eligibility for student-athletes. Identifies irregularities, inconsistencies and potential NCAA violations and reports and/or addresses compliance infractions with Associate AD as necessary and/or appropriate. Assists in preparation and review of academic eligibility documents and financial aid lists for all sports teams for certification purposes. *

Description of Key Responsibility: Assists in drafting, editing and submission of legislative waiver requests, student-athlete applications and associated reports to the NCAA , the America East, Big Sky, MAAC as necessary and/or appropriate.

Formal Education:
Bachelors Degree required.
