Job Summary: Direct Services Staff Liaison
The Direct Services Staff Liaison will provide supportive services to direct care staff within Project Home. This position must be willing to travel throughout the Project Home community and have a working knowledge of community resources throughout the city of Philadelphia. They will be an integral team member who will coordinate trainings and wellness support resources for direct care staff. This position will facilitate a monthly support group, offer recruitment and retention support, obtain resources for wellness, and provide individual and group coaching for staff. This position will not directly supervise staff but will coordinate with program management and leadership to provide additional training, coaching, and support to direct care staff members to assure that they are functioning as effectively as possible and maintaining their wellness.

Schedule: Full-time – 40 hours (varied shifts)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with direct services staff one-on-one for individual support and coaching.
  • Provide mentoring and shadowing for individual training and support for staff.
  • Coordinate and provide training classes and workshops for staff members (Recovery orientation, engagement and outreach, time management and scheduling, wellness, boundaries, organizational skills, and computer and database, etc.) so that staff can navigate the challenging experiences they often have with residents, co-workers, etc.
  • Gather related resources for CPS/CRS staff and peers (wellness, community integration, trauma, and CPS trends, etc.).
  • Facilitate the monthly Peer Staff Meeting to share resources and address issues and concerns.
  • Meet with leadership and program management to offer retention support and provide specialized services.
  • Act as a liaison between staff and their Supervisor/HR to support supervision sessions, as well as extra support around engagement, boundary, recovery, and communication concerns to minimize corrective actions and terminations.
  • Support staff in their wellness/recovery by attending meetings in the community with them as well as connecting them to the available resources, including Project Home’s Employee Assistance Program.
  • Model wellness and recovery.
  • Document all engagement with staff (individual and group) per standards.
  • Maintain and ensure confidentiality while using knowledge and judgment to decide which issues should be shared, and with whom to work on issue resolution.
  • Maintain financial documentation and submit reconciliations as required.
  • Attend Staff Meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Maintain awareness of job postings within Project Home to support and encourage staff’s desired career paths.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)/Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS), and willingness to obtain CPS Supervisor’s certificate.
  • Lived experience and a willingness to share.
  • At least 3-4 year’s prior experience working with individuals with serious mental health and/or drug and alcohol challenges.
  • Demonstrate the ability to utilize de-escalation techniques and other interventions, in the moment, when dealing with crisis situations.
  • Exhibit problem solving skills, be attentive, and engaging.
  • Ability to flex work/time schedule to meet varying needs of staff.
  • Possess organizational skills w/attention to detail, proficient verbal/written communication skills, and effective follow-up.
  • Possess administrative, time management and computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English
  • A WRAP facilitator is desired
  • Possess 12 or more credits in the human services field, Associates Degree is preferred, but not required
  • Valid Driver’s License
