As an integral part of Rice University, the Baker Institute has a strong track record of achievement based on the work of its fellows, scholars, Rice faculty scholars and staff. The institute collaborates with experts from academia, government, the media, business, and nongovernmental and private organizations. Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy is seeking a digital content specialist to develop and review content for the institute’s website and digital communications. Under the supervision of the institute’s editorial director, the digital content specialist will work closely with the institute’s administrative and research staff to write, edit, curate and/or publish content, including graphics, for institute web pages, event invites, blogs, and social media posts. The ideal candidate will have previous experience developing and publishing a variety of digital communication and marketing materials. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising or related field Professional related experience in writing, editing and working with digital content None Internal: Will have frequent contact with all institute researchers as well as the Baker Institute administrative staff External: Will have occasional contact with partner organizations, guests and donors Requires working in front of a computer for extended periods of time (up to eight hours per day). Typical office environment Position is not considered essential during a campus emergency. Serves as a representative of the University, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with other members of the Rice community and with the public.
