POSITION SUMMARY

The Dietitian for Asante provides in-depth nutritional care of the diabetic patient by evaluating, screening and assessing nutritional status and diabetes care needs and providing diabetes education. Also educates the staff where appropriate; works in both outpatient and inpatient settings; assists in assuring hospital compliance with National Standards for Diabetes Education Programs; and serves on the Asante Diabetes Care Advisory Committee.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics and Institutional Management or equivalent
• Must have gone through The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics accredited internship with a clinical emphasis or graduation from a coordinated undergraduate program in dietetics
• Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (Registry eligible and successfully pass registry examination within one year of hire may be considered)

Preferred Certifications

• CDE: Certified Diabetes Educator
• LD: Licensed Dietitian
