In this role you will provide assistance in all food service functions as instructed and in accordance with the established food policies and procedures.
Job Description
- Setup, deliver, and verify accuracy of meal trays and food carts within the dining areas as instructed.
- Distribute and collect menus as necessary for each meal period.
- Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures and ensure that foods follow prescribed modified or therapeutic diets, nutrition/hydration requirements and resident preferences.
- Assist department in obtaining proper food supplies for the next meal.
- Deliver food to residents’ rooms as well as to tables within the designated dining areas.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, cutting boards, and table tops as well as removing garbage.
- Perform kitchen utility duties such as, but not limited to: sweep and mop floors, buss items from dining areas to dish room, wash and clean small wares and equipment.
Qualifications
- No experience required, but previous Food Service experience is a plus.
- Serv Safe or other required local, county or state certifications.
- You have the ability to switch tasks quickly and often.
- You take pride in the quality and presentation of food that you have helped to prepare, as well as the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas that you work within.
- You have a generous amount of patience and the ability to effectively communicate with many different types of personalities.
