Diesel Technician/Mechanic (Fleet Maintenance) Details

Overview: Our Wilsonville Leasing & Rental location is a Mack and Volvo Truck Leasing System franchise and a NationaLease partner supporting all makes of truck and trailer equipment. As a pacesetter in the Western Region, we are dedicated to providing the best fleet management and transportation solutions available for our customers. We have a full-time opportunity for a Fleet Maintenance Technician/Mechanic to join our Wilsonville Leasing Service team. In this role, you would be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on the fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers. You play a big role in gaining customer loyalty by providing exceptional service.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm; must have flexibility in schedule to go on road calls and on-site customer PM'sResponsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance services.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and ensure vehicle in proper operating condition.
  • Follow all state and federal vehicle requirements by testing engines, safety, and combustion control standards; follow all company policies, procedures, and safety and EPA regulations. Use all safety equipment necessary for the job.
  • Communicate frequently with Service Advisor and/or supervisor as directed to update on timeline of services and repairs.
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Contain costs by the following; evaluating part wear, service options, and following all warranty guidelines.
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems as needed.
  • Go on road calls and on-site customer PM's as needed.
We offer in-house advanced-training opportunities - we are the only dealership in North America that is able to conduct all Mack/Volvo training up to the master tech certification with our in house Training Centers.
Qualifications:
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL A or B preferred - must have ability to obtain CDL within 6 months of employment (TEC will cover training & cost of test/licensing fees).
  • Must have own hand tools & tool box.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial class 8 truck repair field.
  • Knowledge in identifying parts and components of diesel truck engines, transmissions, and braking mechanisms; proven ability to disassemble, work on, and reassemble diesel truck parts and machinery; ability to identify mechanical and electronic problems, make repairs, and offer a proper maintenance strategy.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job in safe and alert manner (job requires frequent lifting/moving up to 50lbs, climbing, stooping, kneeling, seeing, grasping, hearing, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and diagnosis equipment.
