Role:

The Dialysis Clinic Manager (DCM) is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of all patient care and technical procedures at the assigned dialysis facility. The related responsibilities include continuously staffing the facility with qualified, properly trained personnel; ensuring safety; maintaining proof of all necessary licenses and certifications for the employees and the facility; coordinating and scheduling patient care both within the facility and by referrals to other providers; maintaining employee and patient records; effectively communicating with patients and staff; and developing and implementing systems and procedures to ensure the safe, continuous quality improvement of all patients receiving dialysis services at assigned facility, effective and efficient operation of the facility.

The DCM assumes these responsibilities twenty-four hours per day and responds immediately when needed, either directly and in person, or by delegation to other adequately trained and authorized supervisory staff.

This is a 12-chair facility operating Monday-Saturday with three shifts. You'll be leading and working collaboratively with a committed team of medical professionals who are passionate about providing quality patient care and improving the lives of people living with kidney disease.

Education:

  • Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in clinical nursing.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in Acute and/or Chronic Hemodialysis preferred.
  • Must have previous charge nurse experience.
  • Previous nurse management experience preferred.

License/Certification:

  • Current RN license in the state of Washington.
  • Current certification of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with a Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card.
  • National certification as CHN, CNN, CDN, or CPDN preferred, or able to obtain within 1 year of employment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply principles of dialysis when providing treatments and using equipment and supplies.
  • Able to utilize every type of dialysis access with ease, understanding their functions, and teach others to analyze and use them appropriately.
  • Able to implement all modalities of dialysis safely and competently.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of adult learning techniques when educating patients and/or staff including accommodating different learning styles.
  • Able to systematically assess and resolve complex clinical and operational problems.
  • Able to concisely and accurately communicate clinical information and recommendations to physicians.
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English for the purpose of following written policies and procedures, completion of reports, and communicating with others in the work setting.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with patients, families, staff and medical professionals.
  • Able to operate a computer, use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel), and EMR software.
  • Demonstrated leadership and critical-thinking skills.
  • Demonstrate and model OPKC's values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence in all interactions with staff, patients, family members, and vendors.
