Job Description
What You’ll Get to Do:
- As a DevSecOps Engineer, you’ll work hand-in-hand with Air Force colleagues to help design, implement, and execute comprehensive automation and CI/CD pipelines for critical production systems impacting thousands of DoD users.
- Apply DevSecOps industry best practices and tools to a broad set of application development teams working in a unique DoD financials environment.
- Support the entire product lifecycle to include requirement analysis, technical design, system integration, implementation and deployment.
- Translate customer/user needs into project requirements and ultimately working solutions.
- Identify, mitigate and resolve technical risks and issues.
More About the Role:
- Lead a team of DevSecOps practitioners and engineers to implement and continuously improve a DevSecOps strategy for an Air Force customer from the ground up.
- Help shape how a key financials management ERP program implements automated testing, platform configuration, cloud migration, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
- Be an agile thought leader helping an Air Force customer continue their transformation into a high performance DevOps organization.
- Use your DevSecOps experience and skills to solve challenging software and deployment issues for a critical ERP financials system.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Experience developing and delivering software on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud services using Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong knowledge of Linux, System Administration, and its deployment in virtual environments.
- Experience developing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines.
- Experience with Git and configuration management processes.
- Experience with automated test tools and frameworks, e.g. Inspec, Selenium, Cucumber, Junit.
- Experience integrating with identity management, access management, and authorization solutions (PKI, LDAP, OAUTH, OpenID).
- Understanding of agile development practices, including Agile Scrum methodologies and/or SAFe.
- Knowledge of Air Force or Department of Defense (DoD) processes, policies and guidance.
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative, open, and unclassified office work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience
- Experience providing security, system or network administration
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Software development experience in one or more software languages including Ruby, Python, Groovy, Java, Javascript/NodeJS, C, C++.
- Familiarity with Cloud Application Platforms such as Heroku, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, OpenShift.
- Familiarity with Oracle offerings (including ERP, EBS, Oracle Cloud) and solutions strongly desired.
- Experience deploying, maintaining and optimizing RDBMS databases such as Oracle, MySQL, Postgres.
- Familiarity deploying to DISA enclaves and production environments also strongly desired.
- CI/CD pipeline experience using GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, and Atlassian tools.
- Experience with container technology (e.g. Docker) development and deployment.
- Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra.
