This position is responsible for the implementation of the Western NH Walk to End Alzheimer’s event in Keene, NH, to meet or exceed goals through volunteer recruitment and engagement as well as through corporate development. Additionally, this position is instrumental in chapter-wide Walk logistics and activities, supporting all 12 Walks organized by the MA/NH Chapter. Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the fastest-growing Walk program in the country, ranking as the third-largest peer-to-peer fundraising event in the United States. Measurable outcomes for this position include: achieving designated financial and participant goals in excess of $75,000 annually through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, community partnerships, increasing Walk-brand awareness and visibility in the community, in addition to overall logistical support for the Chapter. This position is currently remote due to the pandemic, but once we return to the office, the position will be based in Waltham, MA and will require frequent travel within the assigned territory.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Manage Western NH Walk to End Alzheimer’s
    • Responsible for recruitment and development of volunteer community leaders and training, coaching, and management resulting in the attainment of revenue and team goals. This position will manage the WNH Walk Planning Committee.
    • Execute plan for maximizing team participation to achieve revenue goals ($75,000 for 2021 season) by retaining existing teams, attracting new ones from all sectors of the community and by providing fundraising guidance and support.
    • Maintain year-round relationships with key corporate sponsors and constituents to ensure involvement in all relevant Chapter activities, Walk sponsorship and teams, and recognition opportunities.
    • Work with the volunteer planning Committee to organize outreach activities that promote the Alzheimer’s Association mission, including community presentations and corporate engagement opportunities.
    • Responsible for following budgets, timeline, marketing/PR, logistics and best practice implementation, as well as ensuring the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event standards are being followed.
  • Logistics and Other Activities, Walk to End Alzheimer’s across region
    • Intake all sponsorship agreements and perform tracking of benefits, invoicing, recording payments, and adding logos to websites
    • Produce, create and distribute Team Captain toolkits and t-shirts
    • Assist in coordinating Chapterwide outreach, including emails and production of marketing materials
    • Run frequent reports for the Walk team, including incentives, mailing lists, registration and fundraising
    • Manage all aspects of our Chapterwide Photo Challenge (tracking, outreach and creation) and Hustle texting campaign
    • Manage Walker materials inventory, distribution, ordering, mailing and form creation and placing logistics orders for on site Walk events
    • First point of contact for incoming Walk inquiries by email and phone, including all 3rd party fundraising
    • Recruitment and supervision of volunteer groups
    • Some design work as well as creation of Google forms
    • General logistical and administrative support of the Walk team

Minimum requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Equivalency of work experience and education may be considered
  • A minimum of one to two years of experience coordinating fundraising events or working in a non-profit development role with peer to peer fundraising experience preferred
  • Experience working with volunteer groups preferred
  • Confident, goal-oriented, positive self-starter able to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with internal and external partners
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to solicit donations, sponsorships and participants
  • Ability to work with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong customer service focus, work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusion
  • Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with, or ability to rapidly learn, Luminate/Convio software
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Access to reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
