Iowa Wesleyan University is seeking Iowa Wesleyan University invites applications for the Development Director position to oversee the fundraising activities of the university. The Development Director reports to the Vice President for Advancement and Athletics. This is an exempt position and is an integral member of the Campus Community, the Advancement Staff.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a portfolio of 125-175 alumni donors and prospective donors.
  • Responsibility for the design and implementation of their cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
  • Frequent travel (currently limited by Covid-19 pandemic) along with virtual (Zoom) visits to engage these key members of the Iowa Wesleyan University community.
  • Work to increase the diversity of the college’s donor base so it more closely aligns with the diversity of the alumni body.
  • Closing give- and six-figure gifts in support of the mission and values of the University.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and advance relationships strategically and proactively across a diverse alumni base.
  • A sense of judgment and integrity.
  • Personal capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to contributing to an inclusive culture.
  • Able to travel 35-50% of the time to different areas of the country.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive university vehicles.
