JOB SUMMARY

Kenworth Sales Company is looking for an experienced technician with general networking, desktop, telephony and basic systems administration skills. This position will require some travel to configure and install new systems and appliances, perform on site troubleshooting and repair. Individual must be available to respond on-call as assigned, including evenings and weekends. Work hours for this position will vary due to scheduled maintenance windows and response to service outages.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Resolve 2nd Level computer issues remotely for the corporate office and remote branches.
2. Provide 2nd Level support to the Help Desk Tier 1 staff, and support Information System management with technical requests.
3. Monitor, troubleshoot and support desktop/laptop/tablet/thin-client PC's, local and wide area networks, Active Directory and .NET business applications.
4. Answer phones and log tickets while help desk staff out of office.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve printing issues. (HP, Ricoh, Sharp, Konica Minolta)
6. Configure new systems for all locations.
7. Repair laptops, desktops, tablets and phones.
8. High level of written and oral fluency in English.
9. After training, will be part of an on-call rotation for production level systems and user support.
10. Experience with a ticket management process.
11. Basic understanding of network and application protocols (IPv4, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, IPsec VPN, OpenVPN)
12. Basic troubleshooting of network and voice issues.
13. Experience with Microsoft Visio or Gliffy.
14. Can communicate effectively in tickets, emails, to customers, management, and peers.
15. Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing priorities.
16. Must be punctual and reliable.
17. Must have good interpersonal skills for working in a team environment.
18. Must have good time management skills. Delivers a good quantity/quality of work.
19. Able to safely lift and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
20. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Technical Support Technician role.
  • Associates Degree in Computer Related Field is preferred, Technology certifications are a plus
  • Excellent Hardware and Software troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience installing and supporting Microsoft operating systems.
  • Network LAN switching and WAN routing devices (HP, Cisco, Meraki)
  • Mitel or other VOIP administration and support.
  • Ubiquiti, Cisco and other wireless networking support a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Fujitsu Scanners is a plus.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Must work well in a team and independently.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must work in a fast paced environment with a highly technical group.
