McNeese State University, a Division I member of the NCAA and the Southland Conference, is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong leadership and technical skills for a full-time position of Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Operating Officer. This position will implement goals and objectives as they relate to McNeese’s 14-sport NCAA Division I athletics program, The Southland Conference and NCAA policies and procedures. Job Duties: Chief Operating Officer for AthleticsProvide senior level administrative support to McNeese State AthleticsSport oversight of Football and Men’s BasketballServes on Director of Athletics’ Senior StaffSupervise the Coordinator of Marketing and Game Ops & Facilities and oversee the Ticket office and its employees, while assisting with operations as neededWork with Director of Ticket Operations on setting annual ticket pricing and implementing new pricing in future budget preparation Supervision of Asst. A.D. for Compliance and Business Ops on all business mattersWork with Director of Athletics on the oversight of all capital projectsWorks closely with all athletic departmental staff, financial affairs, accounts payable, human resources and other departments on campusMonitor all contracts within the department of athletics, including athletics apparel and sponsorship agreementsAssist the Director of Athletics in future football and basketball game schedulingApprove travel requests and foundation check requests for designated sportsApprove game-day workers, student workers, GA’s, civil serviceAssist with the oversight of game day operationsServe as a member of the University’s Administrative Advisory CouncilDevelop and maintain Athletics Hurricane plan. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.Preferred: Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Experience: Previous experience as a senior level athletics administrator at a Division I institutionAbility to communicate with diverse audiences in a way they can and will effectively steward and advance the Athletics Department. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications and management skills. Qualifications: Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to operate a departmental budget within allocated resourcesAbility to supervise personnel through previous leadership experienceThorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA DI rules, practices, policies, philosophy and procedures.
