Position SummaryThe Department Head for Pediatrics will oversee the faculty, staff and learners in the Department of Pediatrics to advance the educational, clinical, research, and advocacy missions of the department and the School of Medicine. This includes faculty and learners in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette. The Department Head will report directly to the Dean of the School of Medicine and work closely with the leadership at our partnering clinical facilities, our regional campuses, and the LSU Healthcare Network. Partnering clinical facilities are highlighted by Children’s Hospital New Orleans (CHNOLA) and include other LCMC Partner Hospitals and an expanding number of facilities in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. The Department Head will also work with associate and assistant deans to ensure high quality educational experiences for learners. The Department Head will have opportunities to collaborate with other clinical and basic science departments, and directors and staff of the multi-specialty clinics and multi-disciplinary services provided through CHNOLA.
