Job Title: Delivery Driver
Description: To safely drive products to and from residential and commercial business’s and residence, and occasionally other destinations, in a safe and effective manner while adhering to time schedules and traffic laws.
Reports To: Assistant Manager or Store Manager
Responsibilities:
- To greet all customers, respond to customer questions/requests and explain store policies in a courteous manner while not driving
- To assure the safety of self, customers and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying a supervisor of any potential hazard immediately. Pick up/remove all broken containers, packing materials/boxes from the sales floor or product preparation area immediately.
- To perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, substituting for absent workers and performing any additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers during peak periods of business.
- Operate the vehicle safely and follow all traffic laws at all times.
- Effectively deliver product to and from the store to residence’s and/or businesses.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Class E Driver’s License
- Able to give/receive complex verbal instructions/descriptions to/from supervisors/co-workers/employees concerning store/department policy/procedures and use of equipment.
- Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Able to provide a clean driving record.
- Basic reading and writing ability; able to read instructions, merchandise labels, warehouse order codes, numbers, reports, printed paper and forms.
- Good interpersonal communications.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment:
- Inside and outside work with extreme variations in heat/cold/dust/ humidity.
Task of the Job-
- Mobility:
- Driving product company vehicle to and from designated businesses or residences.
- Work on tile or concrete for a maximum of 8 hours in duration, if assuming other duties while not driving.
- Respond to customer, coworker, vendor, and driver questions and responses.
- Use the intercom/phone system.
- To perform other miscellaneous tasks assigned by the store manager.
