Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (formerly Alere) is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies. The position of Data Entry Clerk is within Toxicology located at Gretna, LA laboratory. In this role, the individual will be responsible for entering donor demographic information into the OCR computer system in accordance with the SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and those of other regulatory organizations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Data entry for donor demographic information into the OCR system
  • Correctly file laboratory chain of custody forms
  • Facilitate resolution to entry errors and system malfunctions
  • Review and verify chain of custody forms in accordance with established SOPs
  • Review and verify donor information in AlereApp in accordance with established SOPs
  • Operate equipment to scan chain of custody forms into OCR system
  • Additional functions may include sorting in Accessioning, scanning and filing chain of custody forms
  • Adhere to all security procedures for ensuring confidentiality of donor information
  • Must comply with company policy

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • High school education
  • At least one year of experience in data entry

Preferred

  • Ability to work Tuesday-Saturday 10:30AM-6:30PM
  • Ability to type 50-55 wpm with extensive 10-key experience
  • An above average score on the data entry test administered at the time of interview
  • Ability to understand certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT, and other regulatory bodies
  • Basic ability to understand the function of a Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other laboratory computer systems
