Job Description:
A Local Service Offering Leader (LSOL) leads a specific service offering (SO) practice for a local business unit (BU) in the areas of business development, delivery, and practice management to:
- Create unmatched client sales and delivery experiences
- Develop the talent needed to sell and deliver
- Define and manage the annual plan (financial and imperatives)
- Contribute to National SO advancement
In this case, this role is a co-lead role, serving to coordinate the leadership and responsibilities of the D&A practice as it grows. This person would be working in tandem with the current LSOL Lead and collaborating with them to address the needs of the practice. As such, the skills hired should complement the skills of the current LSOL in D&A, rather than duplicate those skills.
In this role, you will:
Business Development
- Objective: Create and respond to local market demand for the SO offering.
- Work with the co-Lead LSOL to determine the best way to partner with BU leadership, sales leaders, and account managers to identify and develop leads and opportunities. (Expectation that leads, and opportunities will be split between the co-leads based on experience base, availability and/or industry.)
Sales
- Represent the SO in internal BU sales meetings (Must)
- Serve as the leader for all assigned local SO-specific sales pursuits
- Drive or partner with others to create client proposals including solution scope, timeline, estimate of effort, resources, and investment.
- Assist in structuring engagements to meet project pricing and profitability targets
- Collaborate with National and co-lead to educate local BU on SO offerings and capabilities to drive sales Where possible, network and connect with local market community including executive buyers
Marketing and Thought Leadership
- Collaborate with the Co-Lead to define local marketing priorities and tactics to drive awareness in local market
- Credential Centric as a SO leader in the local market.
- Develop a local marketing presence to generate unsolicited leads through speaking, training, conducting marketing events, and blogging
- Contribute to National SO thought leadership (blogs, articles, speaking events)
Delivery and Delivery Excellence
- Objective: Create unmatched client delivery.
- Play different roles as needed on projects to ensure delivery success including:
- Lead a project delivery team
- Advise as a SME in at least one SO Core Capability
- Provide delivery excellence to complex SO projects in their area of expertise
- Provide direct delivery as a consultant in limited instances critical for short term client success. These roles would be assigned so that they do not detract from long term local SO practice development and growth
- Ensure consistency of delivery by leveraging and/or adopting the National SO delivery methodologies, tools, and resources on local projects
- Ensure SO team members and/or project teams are aligned on the client need, vision of what success looks like for the project, the scope and deliverables in the SOW, team roles and how the team will operate (internally and with client) to deliver value. This includes proactively understanding project team working styles and addressing team conflict when it arises and may be in partnership with the Account Manager.
Practice Management
- Objective: Define and achieve annual plan and ensure local team members and contractors are available and ready to deliver.
- Provide leadership with the Co-Lead for the local practice for the BU including:
- Annual Practice Plan (financial and imperatives)
- Develop and manage the annual practice plan and growth targets (financials and imperatives).
- Unless otherwise agreed upon, ensure local SO annual gross profit is equal to or greater than annual practice costs (labor and expenses)
- Apply rates according to Centric rate guidance
- Ensure alignment between local BU and National SO initiatives
A successful candidate will have the following characteristics:
- Domain expertise in one or more capabilities within Data and Analytics. This could include experience as a Data Architect, Data Analyst, BI Developer or Architect, or Data Strategist.
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully across all levels of an organization
- Excellent negotiation, conflict management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to assess and leverage strengths of a diverse group of people to maximize team performance along with proven success developing individuals
- Adaptable to balancing the demands of multiple client assignments with team development while pushing the intellectual envelope in search of solutions to complex problems
Experiences
- Multiple years of demonstrated leadership experience in one or more capabilities within Data and Analytics specialty
- Experience managing client engagements focused on exceeding client expectations, managing project economics and risks, and ensuring buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client
Career Interest and Motivation
- An entrepreneurial mindset with the desire to develop her/his practice area within a larger organization by leveraging existing resources and capabilities in new and unique ways to achieve success
- Long term interest in serving as the LSOL or seeking future career progression to BU Leadership or National SO Leadership Role
