Data Analyst (Atwater)

Data Analyst provides data management, analysis, and reporting services to the GVHC management team. The Data Analyst will assist in the development, implementation and management of business intelligence solutions as well as support organizational activities pertaining to analytics and reporting. They will use a variety of computer-based applications such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL Management Studio to compile, develop and automate distribution of routine reports and dashboards.
Will work at our Atwater site.
Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Provides report writing and data extract support and maintenance.
- Uses data and reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, MS Access, SQL Query, SSIS, or others to accomplish tasks.
- Responds to user requests utilizing best report writing and data practices in the accomplishment of duties.
- Creates and edits SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve data issues utilizing T-SQL.
- Maintains databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions.
- Creates dynamic and static reports using SSRS, sourcing data from SQL Server data warehouse and analysis services. Configures and creates packages for report distribution.
- Documents specifications for each report including both the technical specifications and a summary of the report.
- Exercises timely and accurate data mining techniques and develops new or modifies existing reports that ensure consistent conclusions to data analysis.
- Creates and edits Stored Procedures, Views, Functions and Queries on SQL Server to extract data required for reporting purposes using SQL Server Management Studio.
- Creates Report Subscriptions and Dashboards
- Proactively identifies and communicates dependencies, issues, risks and, or barriers to completing assignments, and escalates to appropriate stakeholders and managers
- Reviews requirements with end users carefully to understand their data and reporting needs. Assists end users in data analysis and creation of self-service reports, if applicable
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally and push up to 100 pounds (on wheels) on rare occasions.
- Must be able to hear staff/client on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.
- Must have vision with or without lenses that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents.
- Must have high manual dexterity.
- Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, fingering and feeling.

Education/Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Effectively communicate with operation, finance and clinical personnel.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- One year of experience with SQL to develop and maintain queries and reports as well as general database management knowledge.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge and familiarity with relational databases.
- Identify and solve problems; collect, correlate and analyze data.
- Ability to learn the data requirements of GVHC’s programs and grants.
- Valid California driver’s license, vehicle insurance, reliable transportation and acceptable driving record.
Education/Experience:
- Associates Degree in Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering, Computer Sciences or related fields required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Knowledge of data analytics and reporting platforms such as Microsoft SSRS, Crystal Reports, Tableau, etc. preferred.
- Data Analysis or SQL certifications highly preferred.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Visual Basic, C++, preferred.
