Job Summary

Southerland, Inc., a national manufacturer of mattresses and foundations with roots back to 1893, has an immediate opening for a Customer Service Representative. Southerland is headquartered in Nashville, TN and is one of the oldest manufacturers of mattresses, foundations and adjustable bases. Southerland has manufacturing plants located in Nashville, TN, Oklahoma City, OK, Phoenix, AZ and Portland, OR. This is a first shift position and reports to the Customer Service Manager. The Customer Service Representative role is a non-exempt, non-supervisory position.

Specific Responsibilities

• Assists consumers and dealers with questions about products, transportation and pricing.
• Participates with answering incoming calls and making delivery calls.
• Processes retailer warranties and returns. Researches databases on OSAS, pulls invoices, and gathers data to document crediting processes. Seeks approval of credit amounts with company executives. Enters returns, logs returns, scraps law tags.
• Process daily reports for multiple locations, i.e. invoices, internal reports, etc.
• Print, process and mail invoices to the customer. Sort invoices and make copies as necessary.
• Assist with filing invoice copies and scan records for internal records
• Maintain report binders for internal records
• Balance postings and scan to administrative staff
• Receive and transfer all incoming calls to various departments
• Sort, scan and file Bill of Ladings from finalized shipments

Additional Responsibilities

May perform other work/duties as assigned

Educational/Experience Requirements

• Minimum high school education
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office Products, OSAS, etc.)
• Experience with office equipment (phones, fax, copiers, printers)
• 1+ years related experience

• Self-motivated and willing to take initiative to seek out answers
• Strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment

Climate controlled office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to reach and occasionally required to stand and walk, stoop, or bend. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Schedule: Monday- Friday, 1st shift

Compensation: Up to $15 per hour depending on experience. 40 hours per week
