License/Certifications/Education: Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Job Summary:
Responsible for creating/developing, presenting/facilitating, and/or coordinating educational opportunities of Critical Care staff to ensure job enhancement, regulatory compliance, and knowledge acquisition. Coordinate orientation of new employees and act as an educational resource.
RN, Clinical Educators are required to work a minimum of one (1) full 12-hour bedside shift a month in the unit of their clinical expertise and educational oversight.
Current Texas RN license; BSN preferred
CPR American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
ACLS desired within 6-months
3 to 5 years minimum of Critical Care staff nursing experience required
3 years minimum clinical educator/instructor and/or supervisory/charge nurse experience preferred
Interpersonal skills effective in fostering team building, communication, and professional accountability
Through understanding of the plan of care, evaluation and coordination of care with other disciplines
Understanding of educational requirements, clinical competencies and certifications of the unit staff
Program development and marketing
Competent computer use including various computer programs, tracking/analyzing data/generating reports
Possess strong verbal and written communication, organizational, teamwork and follow-through skills
Accustomed to public speaking
Multi-task constantly and tolerate interruptions
Clear and concise instructions to others
Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team
