We are looking for a Creative Studio Manager to join our team. This role will be instrumental in building our professional studio from the ground up. This candidate needs to be strategic, highly organized, a clear communicator, and comfortable regularly meeting with clients, internal leadership, and other stakeholders. You will provide leadership and project/time management to the creative 3D Specialist team while communicating with clients on projects.

The Studio Manager will be responsible for:

Studio:

  • Guiding team members in building our professional creative studio from the ground up.
  • Being involved in recruitment and selection decisions, budget recommendations, and setting systems and processes so that the studio and wider organization are aware of how the creative studio operates.
  • Overseeing daily studio operations, including all aspects for each project budget; making full use of project management software to efficiently manage studio team’s time across multiple projects from initial intake to final completion and delivery, monitoring progress, and tracking work status and milestones.
  • Hiring and management of 3D Specialists and external temporary contractors, working with our Human Resources department on negotiations and contracts.
  • Managing multi-disciplinary studio team which may comprise of a range of designers with differing digital skillsets and freelancers.
  • Clearly communicating client and project needs, setting project goals, expectations, and priorities to ensure smooth production process and on-time delivery in accordance with the project brief.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to develop and implement digital projects outside of client requests.
  • Creating timely and accurate project status reports and recaps after projects are completed.


Clients:

  • Being the first point of contact for the studio, collaborating closely with internal business teams to craft client briefs and SOWs including project goals and objectives, creative resource needs, and targeted deadlines.
  • Managing client expectations on schedules and timing, creatively balancing workflow sometimes on unexpected or tight deadlines.
  • Escalating potential risks to meeting project deadlines and client goals to immediately resolve issues.
  • Coordinating deliverables on time and ensure quality standards are met, including proofing and reviewed before they are delivered to the client.
  • Gathering client feedback to ensure client satisfaction, and using that feedback, metrics, and retrospectives to plan for improvements and future initiatives for the studio.

  • Strategizing for future opportunities based on our organization’s goals and growing the studio into a revenue-generating division of our business. Monitoring industry trends and adjusting our strategy to match those changing needs.
  • Continually examining workflow processes and finding areas to improve.


You Are:

  • Experienced in managing a professional studio, project management of creative digital projects, budgeting, strategizing, and forecasting.
  • Experienced in balancing workloads among a creative team, and comfortable ensuring productivity and efficiency by allocating resources.
  • Able to intimately understand what clients need and ensure it is communicated efficiently to the design team.
  • Tech-savvy and familiar with digital workflows.
  • Methodical with excellent time management skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator via verbal, written, or visual methods remotely or in person.
  • Confident juggling a large number of projects, and able to remain flexible to possible mid-project changes and quickly re-set priorities.
  • Has a collaborative approach to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships.

Requirements:
  • 10 years managerial experience working in a similar studio management role for 3D design or design-focused professional studio
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, 3D Design or related field
  • Exposure to 3D design software and production pipeline
  • Relevant customer service experience, understanding issues, and relationship management
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, and project management tools/software
