Position Summary:
We’re looking for the newest Counter Sales Rep to join our team! This person will assist customers with product selection, offer alternative products for specific applications, and manage the order process for each customer. In addition, they will stock shelves, merchandise materials to maximize our potential sales revenue and collaborate with outside sales to deliver exceptional service to our customers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping our customers and be a pro at multi-tasking!

Position Responsibilities:
- Verifies shipment of goods received from branch transfers and packing slips.
- Organizes and stocks warehouse shelves with incoming materials and supplies.
- Maintains clean, orderly, and safe stock area.
- Assists in the Cycle Counting efforts at the branch.
- Greets customers at the sales counter or through incoming telephone calls, providing accurate, helpful, detailed information to their questions or problems.
- Quotes jobs and bids on material with pricing, recommends, and sells appropriate products to the customer.
- Gathers material requested by the customer from the shelves, ensuring they are correct for customer application and order.
- Assists with pulling materials for transfers to other branches, phone orders, and orders to be delivered when needed or requested.
- Assists with counter maintenance, helping to keep area clean, orderly, and safe.
- Solves customer problems tactfully and promptly.
- Keeps abreast of all new product information and upcoming product promotions through vendor- and company-sponsored Lunch and Learns, upon availability.
- Works closely with all internal departments, combining individual efforts to better serve the customer.
- Meets or exceeds sales budget by proactively seeking new business and participating in selling programs and promotions.
- Performs other duties as obvious or assigned.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and collaborate within a multi-functional team.
- Detail oriented, organized, consistent and tenacious.
- A team player – work together with others to accomplish common goals of company.
- Organized with strong time management skills.
- Ability to learn our ERP system.
- Industry product knowledge beneficial.
- Self-motivated and self-starter.
- Minimum High School Diploma.
- Customer Service Training/Experience is preferred
This is a safety sensitive position:
- May be required to operate powered industrial trucks.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. several times a day, bend, twist, and climb.
