Position Summary:
The Corporate Development Co-op Analyst will primarily support American Dental Partners’ merger and acquisition (M&A) growth initiatives. The Co-op Analyst will be an integral member of the company’s Corporate Development team which works closely with the company’s broader Development Team, senior management, functional teams, local business unit leaders, and affiliated dental groups to identify and execute on attractive investment opportunities. A key element of these responsibilities will be contributing to the sourcing, financial analysis, and execution of M&A transactions, as well as various data-driven and geospatial analyses related to demographics, competition, and insurance payor data and fee schedules. In addition to helping assess and execute on new acquisition opportunities, the Co-op Analyst will also support the analysis, tracking, and reporting of previously completed acquisitions.
The Corporate Development Co-op Analyst will report to the Director, Corporate Development, but will work most closely with the team’s two Corporate Development Analysts.
In this position you will:
Gain exposure to the entire M&A process by playing a role in the sourcing, financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence of potential M&A transactions.
Develop financial models with input from the company’s affiliated dental groups, construction project managers, and business units to evaluate revenue, expense, capital expenditure, and investment returns of potential acquisition opportunities.
Prepare approval documents, memoranda, and presentations used by senior management, the Board of Directors, and selling dentists and shareholders.
Analyze data to make better business and investment decisions.
Examples of day-to-day work include:
Analyzing the income statements and tax returns of dental practices
Building a preliminary financial model to assess the EBITDA potential of an acquisition candidate
Comparing the fee schedule of a seller to the fee schedule of our affiliated dental group, as well as the insurance reimbursement the seller receives compared to what our affiliated dental group is reimbursed
Identifying potential acquisition candidates to roll-in to an existing dental practice that has excess capacity
Writing business development letters and creating marketing collateral to facilitate outreach to potential acquisition candidates
Organizing due diligence information and maintaining the online data room related to an active deal
Participating on conference calls related to active deals
