Supervises: Health & Wellness Manager; Life Skills & Mentoring Manager; Education & Employment Manager; Property Managers of both Renaissance Apartments and Senior Village, Trainer, Employment Placement Manager, and the Coordinator of Services at Sr. Village

Organization Background and Current Status: The Renaissance Collaborative, Inc. (TRC) is 28 year old award-winning not-for-profit supportive housing, employment and educational service agency serving the historical Bronzeville Community on Chicago's mid-south side. TRC's mission is to promote self-sufficiency for low and moderate income residents of Chicago that enables them to rebuild their lives by providing comprehensive services and support. TRC is dedicated to providing innovative affordable housing environments that renew people and build healthier communities. It works in partnership with other community, civic, economic, and social service organizations to achieve its mission. Using an asset-based approach, the agency works in three distinct business areas:

  • Supportive and Affordable Residential Housing: including a 101 SRO supportive housing facility, and a 71 unit independent senior housing development as the first part of a senior village, part two is intergenerational housing
  • Workforce Development: including its own social venture initiative, Bronzeville Green, an organic garden and landscaping company, a panner in the 741 Workforce Initiative, and developing trainings in landscaping, green clean janitorial, and desk clerk/customer service
  • Commercial Development: creating sustainable jobs and developing a state of the an workforce training center.

Position Description:

This Manager facilitates, coordinates and assists in The Renaissance Corporation's efforts to rebuild lives of low- and moderate-income individuals and families, and support the organization's mission and goals by helping them become economically self-sufficient. The Sr. Manager is a vital component to the Residential Operations Team and oversees all residential operations for both Renaissance Apartments and TRC Senior Village. This position will lead the areas of policy, reporting requirements and reviews annual physical exams of residents that enables and promotes accountability and self-sufficiency. This position manages all staff in residential operations reviews intakes assessments processes and procedures to ensure they conform to the rules and policies of the agency, source information of best practices for the industry, help monitor and evaluate client progress, and when required assist in making appropriate client referrals. The Sr. Manager of Residential Operations will uphold and support the rules and regulations for all TRC tenants, staff and property.

Supervision and Program Quality Monitoring (approximately 50% of the position)

  • Provide supervision to staff in both facilities and services ensuring accountability and compliance are met for the agency

Resident & Community Development (15%)

  • Assist in developing and coordinating social, cultural and education activities with residents
  • Oversees the documentation by staff on any resident encounter and progress within 48 hours of contact in file so other staff will know, including contract agreements for unpaid rent

Administrative Documentation & Reporting (35%)

  • Provide policy monitoring to ensure the agency meets reporting requirements for both facilities and services and make recommendations on policies and procedure changes to Sr. Management Team
  • Maintain up to date activity records and complete end of the month paperwork as indicated in operation manual (this includes HMIS, IDHS, SPH, HUD, etc)

As the Senior Manager of Residential Operations you are responsible for the following:

1. Management:

a. Adhere to the mission and value statement of The Renaissance Collaborative, Inc.

b. Exercise sound cost control measures to ensure the financial soundness of each program area of the agency

c. Ensure the continuous flow of quality services to each tenant by six month evaluation of Individual Service Plans

d. Participate in the team's efforts in order to achieve maximum productivity of organization and support of residents

e. Develop and present programs to team that ensure measurable outcomes that improve and strengthen the level of self-sufficiency for the residents

f. Ensure timely reports needed to meet internal and external requirements.

2. Performance Outcomes and Accountability:

a. Work with team to set. achieve or exceed program goals and objectives annually

b. Keep well informed on new developments and competitive practices in areas of responsibility

c. Maintain a record of each resident's goals, and evaluate improvements in program area at time of evaluation and budgets (every 6 months but no less than annually)

d. Meet monthly with the Senior Management Team/ED to report and strategize on how to best address any issues encountered that may become obstacles/barriers to further the agency's mission

Education/Job Experience/Certification:

  • Experience working with and coordinating a team of professional with histories in counseling of homeless, returning citizens, mental health, substance abusers, and/or the veteran population as well as facility operations
  • BS or Master Degree in social service or related field and/or comparable experience in providing support services to low and moderate income individuals.
  • Computer literate in use of various software and the Internet.
  • CADC Required

Compensation:

Compensation is high $55-60K, based upon qualifications. Excellent compensation package; 100% employer-paid health insurance, dental and life, 403B available with employer-paid contribution; two weeks paid vacation; six sick days, and two personal days the first year of employment; and opportunities for paid professional development.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
