Salary: Typical starting range is $16.66 to $20.83 or higher (based on experience and qualifications)

Plus, as a Cook at Asante, you will make extra money per hour when working Swing, Night, and Weekend hours!


  • $2.15 extra per hour between 11:00pm and 7:00am
  • $1.27 extra per hour between 3:00pm and 11:00pm
  • $1.10 extra per hour for weekend shifts

Asante is also currently offering a sign on bonus of $375.00 and a retention bonus of $375.00 after 6 months of full-time employment for any qualified external candidate who applies and is hired.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Cook performs a variety of duties related to cooking and preparing short order food items. They may prepare regular and modified diet items for patients, cafeteria, and catering and will prepare food set forth for tray-line, cafeteria, and catering to meet HASAP and quality guidelines. They also serve food using standard menus and production sheets, with the appropriate sauces and garnishes and at their proper temperatures and times and all catered foods are served at their proper time with a high degree of presentation (not over cooked, over filled, cold, hot, sauced and garnished incorrectly).

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Associate Degree in culinary science or arts, restaurant or hospitality management, or other related field, is preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of food service experience in a restaurant or institutional setting to include at least 2 years cooking or line prep experience is required
  • Hospital or other large institutional experience preferred

Licensure/Certifications

  • Oregon Food Handler Card issued by Oregon Department of Health or a valid food manager training certificate is required
