Lewis-Clark State College is seeking a Controller to join our team!

This position is exempt from classified state service and the rules of the Division of Human Resources and the Idaho Personnel Commission.

Example of Duties

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the operation of the college's financial accounting system including receipts and disbursements. The primary responsibilities include financial statement presentation and financial oversight of treasury management, accounts payable, grants accounting, payroll, and supervision of respective personnel. This position also assists the Lewis-Clark State College Foundation with financial statements and analysis.
Essential Functions:


  • Oversee college checking accounts including responsibility for all receipts. disbursements, and banking activity including investing excess funds.
  • Oversee annual independent audit and prepare financial statement.
  • Oversee departmental copy machine acquisition and administration.
  • Oversee property, plant and equipment accounting.
  • Oversee grant billings and indirect reporting.
  • Serve on planning, assessment, and search committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Finance and Administration
  • Review and approve journal entries and various account reconciliations.
  • Assist the Lewis-Clark State College Foundation with financial statements and analysis. May include serving as Treasurer, and calculating gift annuity present values, endowment distributions, and monthly market gains and losses.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university along with CPA license; OR a Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible financial management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Financial experience in higher education.
  • Experience using an enterprise resource planning system (ERP).
