SOC is looking for mid-level Contract Administrator/Specialist to assist with activities related to the organization’s commercial contract administration and business entity management. This position reports to the Senior Director of Contracts. The corporate office is located in our Reston, Virginia, but we will consider remote applicants based upon experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and communicates policies for proper contract submission, approval, and execution
- Upon request, develops, maintains and distributes reports and analyses related to contract administration and management
- Assists with efforts to streamline and improve contract management software toolset
Contract Administration Function
- Prepares new service agreements and amendments upon request, using inventory of standard contract templates
- Helps to develop and maintain library of alternative negotiating positions and contract language to address common client points of objection
- Helps to track and report contracting status for all pending client and vendor contracts and renewals, ensuring proper control of draft contract versions, requested edits, and points of negotiation
- Coordinates approval and execution of completed contracts and ensures contracts are properly recorded in contract system
- Prepares, organizes and maintains contract records and files documenting contract attributes, terms and conditions
- Helps to identify and report on exceptions to standard business terms, ensuring such exceptions are properly communicated within the organization to facilitate contract fulfillment
- Monitors status of contracts pending renewal and works with Senior Director of Contracts and Senior Contract Specialist to support the renewal process
- Utilizes contract management software applications for contract administration including coordination with IT regarding updates and user support
Entity Management Function
- Helps maintain registered agent relationship for each entity in each local jurisdiction
- Helps prepare and file business licenses, as necessary for local business registration for SOC and its affiliates, to ensure all necessary entity licenses and authorizations are in place to support sales and service requirements
- Helps prepare and file periodic state and local entity reports necessary to maintain business authorization and good standing

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree; OR
- High School Diploma/GED with minimum five years of contract administration experience in a professional setting
Experience
Required
Minimum three years’ experience in commercial contracting. Relevant experience will demonstrate the following required skills/ knowledge:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook
- Training and experience regarding legal requirements in contract administration
- Proven organizational and project management skills
- Database management skills
- Ability to interpret key elements in a contract
- Superior communication skills across internal functional teams
- Ability to multitask, meet urgent deadlines, and handle multiple priorities
Preferred, but not required
- Paralegal skills and experience
- Healthcare experience
- Training and experience with state business licensing requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft CRM
