We are a downtown boutique litigation firm handling high level matters for insurers. Our firm culture is cooperative, collegial, and forward-thinking. We are seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to work on a contract basis (part or full-time/remote with some in-office) to work with a team of paralegals to assist with a mass litigation project. The right candidate is reliable, efficient, and works well in a professional team environment. Responsibilities include:

• Providing paralegal support under the guidance of a lead paralegal on a team
• Effectively communicating with attorneys, colleagues, witnesses, and clients
• Working with in-house and opposing counsel to coordinate scheduling of depositions and mediations
• Drafting pleadings, initial disclosures, discovery
• Filing documents with courts using e-filing systems
• Maintaining case files using internal document management system
• Issuing subpoenas for records, depositions, and trials
• Working with counsel to prepare for depositions and mediations
• Other duties as necessary

Skills required or preferred include:

• Proven experience as a litigation paralegal
• Familiar with all aspects of Discovery process
• Knowledge of legal terminology and court systems, both state and federal
• Proficiency in Word and Excel, with knowledge of other MS Office products
• Ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, document management software, billing software, pdf software)
• Worldox and Coyote experience is a plus
• Proficiency in English
• Outstanding time-management skills
• Ability to multitask and being comfortable dealing with a diverse pool of people
• Three or more years of experience preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Paralegal: 3 years (Preferred)
