Content Developer

The Learning and Development Content Developer is responsible for driving Paycom product usage and adoption, as well as, employee performance and business results through collaborative discovery, design, development and implementation of material learning solutions. Their areas of focus include Paycoms client training program and internal company- or department-wide instructional initiatives. This individual will work independently with project stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and department leadership and colleagues in researching, planning and developing written and visual content in a fast-paced environment on strict deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate learning content in accordance with business objectives
- Write and produce training materials, such as guides, video scripts, screen recordings and more, using a variety of content creation software
- Design content that is usable and easily understood by various audiences clients and their employees, new hires, leaders, etc.
- Interface with stakeholders involved in the content development process
- Analyze data trends and business need to determine gaps and opportunities for future content
- Execute Paycoms standard of quality across all learning content
- Manage project documentation and report progress according to team project management standards
- Revise all content as needed to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance as well as alignment with product or process updates
- Maintain Paycom product knowledge post new hire training
MINIMUM BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors Degree; degree in Journalism, English, Communication, or Education preferred OR 4 years of experience in education, technical writing, editing, or related OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
- Experience in training, technical and/or creative writing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Use of one or multiple platforms for video or written content management/creation: Camtasia or other screen recording software; Adobe design platforms: InDesign and Illustrator; Confluence or other content editing and publishing platform
Skills/Abilities:
- Basic project management skills
- Superior command of the English language, including rules and usage; AP Style preferred
- Advanced communication and editing skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational and time management skills
- Strong research skills, including gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources (subject matter experts, project managers) to develop content, training materials and manuals
- Ability to retain an abundance of information in a minimal amount of time
- Proven ability to generate creative, unique and relevant content
- Proficient/Intermediate computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
- A strong work ethic and love for learning
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with aggressive deadlines
- Act as a brand ambassador by modeling Paycom values in every interaction with clients, colleagues, and general public
