The Construction Supervisor is responsible for directing in-house crews and subcontractors in day-to-day activities to drive successful project outcomes. This position supports the Project Management/Operations team in scheduling, financial analysis, and working directly with customers, engineers, and stakeholders to provide status updates. Accountable for execution of projects from start to finish including: bidding, procurement, enforcing MasTec Core Safety Principles, management of build and closeout activities.

Essential Functions-

  • Manage and lead internal and external project teams to ensure on-budget and on-schedule delivery.
  • Report and communicate to external customer(s) and internal management each day.
  • Build processes and teams required to deliver all project requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Project Construction Lead for timing, execution, and closeout of individual projects.
  • Lead weekly meetings with the client and project team.
  • Send crews to projects and direct them on the overall tasks needed to be completed and ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Assist with bidding projects and billing deliverables.
  • Ability to approve timesheets, daily logs, unit tabulation, managing change orders, and interpretation of financial metrics on individual projects.
  • Ensure project milestones/schedules are being met and proper revenue recognition is being reported.
  • Ensure the crew has the correct equipment and materials needed for the project and organize/coordinate logistics to have on-site prior to start date.
  • Develops, maintains and grows working relationships with Customers, Vendors and Contractors.
  • Proven track record of providing deliverables, forecasting, scheduling, and resource allocation planning.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications-

  • A High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • 3 years of construction project experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF writer.
  • Intermediate experience in schedule management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to read blueprints accurately.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, communicate progress, highlight issues, and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Safety-oriented mindset and knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Understand underground excavation methods and best practices.


Preferred Qualifications-

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management or a related field of study.
  • 5 or more years of construction project experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
