Job Title: Construction Coordinator Job Code: NP8243 Summary Supports the construction activities associated with Transmission natural gas system projects. Coordinates with customers, contractors, communications, construction leadership, Project Managers, engineering, field operations and integration center to ensure customer focused safe and cost effective construction Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Observe contractor adherence to construction plan related to Safety, Environmental, Compliance, and Production with respect to Transmission Pipelines
- Hires 3rd party inspectors
- Works across geographic boundaries whenever necessary
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions independently
- Coordinates with Project management team, resource planners, contractor partners and , logistics and to ensure crew efficiencies are achieved
- Monitors and orders when necessary, thru the project team, materials needed for the job .
- Coordinates job site deliveries from 3rd party vendor to contractor.
- Communicates delivery issues and monitors lost, damaged and excess materials
- Actively interacts with Contractors, safety and 3rd party inspectors to ensure performance metrics and policies/procedures are met or exceeded
- Inspects restoration work to assure quality work and customer satisfaction
- Executes Major Projects construction strategies
- Monitors customer complaints to assure timely handling of customer inquiries
- Effectively uses technology, tools and planning techniques to track and communicate project status
- Creates and maintains valued relationships with government entities, industry associates, company affiliates and contractors
- Promotes and assures a safe working environment and public safety
- Supports Construction in the execution of timely and accurate progress reports
- Verifies contractor qualifications and certifications and ensures proper documentation
REQUIRED FOR SELECTION: - A minimum of three (3) years of experience in natural gas construction operations, including at least one year as a lead person in these functions.
- Working knowledge of gas operations policies and procedures and applicable federal, state and local codes/regulations
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organize, including attention to detail to generate accurate and timely daily-progress records and as-built project sketches
- Self-motivation and demonstrated ability to work with little direct supervision and make sound, independent decisions
- Prior experience in accurately interpreting construction drawings and operations maps
- Prior experience in overseeing the installation of pipelines as designed
- Must be willing and able to accept shift, on-call, emergency response, emergency assignments and work overtime
- Working knowledge of and experience using a computer
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in both writing and speech
- Valid driver’s license
PREFERRED FOR SELECTION: - Prior experience reading and understanding detailed tie-in plans
- Construction inspection experience
- Experience working with pipeline contractors
- Understanding of Project Management principles
