This position will be responsible for various duties such as assisting in ensuring compliance with all state and federal rules and regulations across the company at all locations and assisting with the quality control audit process. The Compliance and QC Specialist must exhibit a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times, provide customer service to our internal and external customers, and focus on loan quality and compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work collaboratively with management and business units to ensure the business is complying with all state and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to TILA, RESPA, ECOA, CFPB, HUD, AML/BSA and SAR reporting requirements.
- Participate in regulatory audit exams including coordinating materials and validating documentation.
- Monitor and research compliance for loan-level audits and process audits.
- Serve as compliance help desk for all compliance inquiries including loan level TRID, RESPA, and Re-Disclosures questions.
- Monitor and assist with implementation of compliance improvements. RESPA, HMDA and TRID compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Review and process file cancellations as requested by Sales and/or Underwriting within specified timeframes and SLAs.
- Assist with post-closing QC rebuttal process which includes providing QC vendor with loan files selected for review, supporting documentation and rebuttal responses for any deficiencies noted by QC vendor.
- Review TRID and COC to ensure most recent is in the loan file and for accuracy.
- Identify issues that may results in the inability to sell a loan on the secondary market.
- Communicate effectively with operations staff to address any unresolved issues and elevate concerns to QC Supervisor of any potentially critical issues.
- Work diligently with QC vendor to ensure post-closing audit results are completed within the 90-day deadline according to QC Plan.
- Provide QC vendor with third-party verification of employment reports for loans selected for audit.
Knowledge, Education and/or Experience:- College degree preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 3 years of mortgage experience and Minimum 2 years in Compliance.
- In depth knowledge RESPA, TILA, TRID, HMDA and Fair Lending
- Excellent understanding of investor, agency and government guidelines.
