Responsible for overseeing the review, interpretation, and dissemination of current and proposed Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws and regulations. Provides consultation and advice to partners regarding AML compliance and risk avoidance. Establishes business development strategies to minimize risk and assure compliance with relevant AML laws and legislation.Major Duties
1. Reviews client files for conformance with applicable AML policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
2. Provides support and functional knowledge as it relates to compliance with applicable AML laws, rules and standards.
2. Advises business partners, including senior management, on Compliance programs and applicable laws, regulations, rules and standards, including keeping them informed of developments or changes that may affect their area.
3. Participates in developing Compliance programs and acts as a contact point within the company for Compliance inquiries from partners.
4. Participates in establishing written guidance on the appropriate implementation of AML Compliance programs and laws, regulations, rules and standards, through policies, procedures and other AML-related documents.
5. Provides support as requested by Global AML Management to resolve compliance issues, including actions in response to Regulatory exam and Audit findings.
6. Identifies, measures, and documents Compliance risk to enhance Compliance risk assessments and assess the appropriateness of the company's Compliance procedures and guidelines.
7. Identifies situations which may pose significant Compliance risk and guides management in developing policies and/or procedures that minimize risk.
8. Interacts with business partners, regulators, and internal and external auditors on regulatory topics.
9. Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of AML Compliance risk avoidance.
10. Serves as a subject matter expert or other resource within a group for AML regulatory Compliance matters. Qualifications

  • 5-7 or more years’ experience, preferably in Compliance or risk management; or equivalent related experience.
  • Knowledge of risk management and the Company’s strategic goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, acquired through formal education and work experience.
  • Analytical and communication skills are necessary to consult with and communicate information to partners/clients; to analyze and summarize information; and to apply laws and regulations to the Company’s business.
  • Knowledge of AML, Customer Identification Program (CIP), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulatory requirements as they apply to institutional and high net worth clients, including funds and fund servicing, is preferred. CAMS certification is a plus.
