Compensation Manager

We are currently seeking a Compensation Manager to join as a key member of our highly engaged and valued Total Rewards team. This is an exciting opportunity to influence and manage compensation strategy and programs for a dynamic $5B national company. We want an experienced compensation professional to evolve and grow our internal compensation practice. This will include consulting for 5,000 employees on merit, bonus and overall salary structure that support our "pay for performance" and "total rewards" compensation philosophy. This role will also interact with leaders at all levels of the organization, including senior executives, making key recommendations and proposals to build an impactful overall strategy and program. A key early project will be building out a formalized compensation process for our craft workforce population. This position can be based in any of the following offices: St. Louis, MO; Phoenix, AZ; Dallas, TX; or Houston, TX.
Success in this role requires the individual to have the ability to analyze, design and monitor compensation programs while also administering compensation including creating and maintaining job descriptions, determining FLSA status, market pricing roles, etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HR partners and business leaders to understand compensation needs. Provide consultation to various topics, including interpretation of compensation programs and practices, job evaluations, job descriptions, job profiles and salary placement.
- Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc salary reviews and recommend changes to ensure pay remains competitive and internal equity is maintained.
- Assist with the annual compensation review process including salary, bonus and equity compensation recommendations and approvals.
- Conduct job evaluations and market prices jobs using best practices.
- Lead the research, selection, and participation in salary surveys, and ensure maximum ROI.
- Review existing compensation processes and recommend creative ways to enhance efficiencies and consistency.
- Analyze and monitor compensation programs to ensure they are competitive, compliant, cost effective, align with business goals and support McCarthy’s compensation strategy.
- Continuously evaluate external labor market conditions to identify market trends and drive sound compensation decisions.
- Partner across functions and lead company-wide and business focused compensation projects as requested.
- Participate in business operation meetings, serving as the subject matter expert for Total Rewards.
- Responsible for proper FLSA classification in compliance with DOL regulations.
- Promote the value of McCarthy’s Total Rewards programs on a daily basis through education and awareness initiatives.

Qualifications – Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years’ broad-based compensation experience required
- Strong organization skills – ability to effectively prioritize work
- High level of professionalism with ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience using Success Factors and CCP certifications preferred
